Policies and Procedures 2017

Please note these important dates. In the event that I have an early delivery, all unused lessons will be refunded by the end of December 2017. Since there is only one week in December for most students, I will combine December’s invoice with November’s.

September 6th – Lessons begin

October 9th – Thanksgiving

November 13th – Remembrance Day observed

December 8th – Last day of lessons

An invoice will be sent to you before your first lesson of the month. Payment is due before or at the lesson. I currently accept cash, cheque, and e-transfers as methods of payment.

If a lesson is cancelled with six (6) hours notice, two options will be made available to you:

1) You may reschedule the lesson within one week of the cancelled lesson as time allows.

2) Two lessons in this semester will be refunded or credited to you.

Cancellation notice can be made through text, voice message, or e-mail.

Lessons that are cancelled less than six hours in advance or exceeding the limit of allowed cancellations will not be refunded. Exceptions may be permitted for emergencies. In the event that I must cancel, I will either add a credit to your next invoice or refund your money.

In the event of a storm day, lessons will be cancelled if road conditions are poor. If the lesson cannot be rescheduled, a credit or refund will be offered.

To help me stay as healthy as I can in my pregnancy, please cancel your lesson if your child is ill. We will make up the lesson when they are feeling better, regardless of when you cancel.

In-home students: If you are not home when I arrive, I will wait for ten minutes. If you do not arrive by that time, I will leave and no refund or credit will be given.?

In-studio Lessons: Please note, I do have a cat in my home. He is very friendly, but if you or your have child have an allergy, lessons in my home may not be appropriate. He is a Siamese cat, so depending on your type of allergy, you may not have a reaction to him.

If your child has an allergy or medical condition I should know about, let me know so that I may ensure my home is a safe environment.

Please take off your shoes when you arrive. While not necessary, all parents are welcome to observe lessons. If you do not wish to sit in on the lesson but would like to wait inside, my living room will be available. While this space is available for waiting, children must be supervised at all times. In an attempt to take care of the piano, I ask that students/parents let me know if hand washing is necessary before playing.

Thank you!
